I convened and chaired Making Digital Deliver for the NHS at The Glasshouse, Gateshead on 21 October 2026, the follow-up to the 2025 event that launched my report.

I chaired a webinar on the plan for the NHS Single Patient Record, with panellists from the national programme and two of the most mature shared care records.

I wrote the foreword to Baringa’s new report, the first independent, data-driven assessment of how the NHS spends on technology at a local level.

I hosted a roundtable on scaling AI for neighbourhood health at Global AI Cities 2026 at Old Trafford, co-hosted with the Greater Manchester Combined Authority.

I delivered a keynote and hosted panels for the first ever dedicated health track at Global Government Forum’s Innovation 2026 event at ExCeL London.

I chaired the panel discussion to launch my NHS digital leadership report, with Sir Jim Mackey giving the keynote.

In ‘A Fresh Mandate for Digital Leadership in the NHS’, I set out what needs to change to meet national ambitions, based on interviews with senior digital leaders.

I serve as a non-executive director at Gateshead Health NHS Foundation Trust, chairing the digital committee and providing board-level oversight of digital and data strategy.

I spoke on the implications of artificial intelligence for health systems at this Manchester event, alongside commercial and public sector leaders.

I chaired a panel on how user-centred approaches can help the NHS become more patient-centred in practice, with a GP founder, a service designer and the head of healthcare at a Danish technology firm.

As a non-executive director, I oversaw a period of major investment in IT, digital and data within one of the NHS’s best-performing trusts, strengthening its digital capability and resilience.

The Trust maintained its ambassador status and Maintaining Excellence Standard, recognising continued progress on staff health and wellbeing. I was on the board and the people and culture committee.

The Trust was named organisation of the year, recognising its work to support speaking up and raising concerns. I was the board champion for Freedom to Speak Up.

I introduced the first event of the North East health tech cluster, discussing how automation could improve patient outcomes and operational efficiency.
