In ‘A Fresh Mandate for Digital Leadership in the NHS’, I set out what needs to change to meet national ambitions, based on interviews with senior digital leaders.
I serve as a non-executive director at Gateshead Health NHS Foundation Trust, chairing the digital committee and providing board-level oversight of digital and data strategy.
I spoke on the implications of artificial intelligence for health systems at this Manchester event, alongside commercial and public sector leaders.
I chaired a panel on how user-centred approaches can help the NHS become more patient-centred in practice.
As a non-executive director, I oversaw a major period of investment in IT, digital and data within one of the NHS’s best-performing trusts, strengthening its digital capability and resilience.
The Trust maintained its ambassador status, recognising continued progress on staff health and wellbeing. I serve on the board and people and culture committee.
The trust was named organisation of the year, recognising its work to support speaking up and raising concerns. I serve as board champion for Freedom to Speak Up.
I introduced the inaugural event of the North East health tech cluster, discussing how automation could improve patient outcomes and operational efficiency.
