I am a non-executive director at Gateshead Health NHS Foundation Trust, where I chair the digital committee and provide oversight of digital and data strategy at board level.
The Trust employs over 5,000 staff and delivers acute, community and specialist services to a local population of around 200,000, and some services to the wider region.
The Trust has set out an ambition to shift decisively from analogue to digital in how it designs and delivers services.
The Trust is part of the Great North Healthcare Alliance, a partnership between NHS trusts in Gateshead, Newcastle, Northumbria and North Cumbria. Together these organisations serve 1.3 million patients across 4,600 square miles, employ around 40,000 staff and manage an annual budget of approximately £3.4 billion.
Before this appointment, I served for six years as a non-executive director at Northumbria Healthcare NHS Foundation Trust, where I chaired the board’s digital committee and oversaw a period of significant investment in IT and digital.
