Northumbria Healthcare NHS Foundation Trust was recognised nationally for its support network enabling staff to raise concerns that could affect patient safety and care.
At the HSJ (Health Service Journal) Awards 2021, the Trust received the Freedom to Speak Up Organisation of the Year award, recognising its approach to supporting openness and reporting concerns. The award was presented by Sir Robert Francis, who led the national Freedom to Speak Up review.
